Telephone update: Council staff in the Civic Centre will be using a new phone system, and will have new phone numbers. This means that the way council staff contact each other by phone will also change. The summary below shows users of the existing and new phone systems how to contact each other.
Users of the existing phone system: To phone other users of the existing phone system - same arrangements as present - four digit internal extensions should be used.
To phone users of the new phone system - dial 9 + new number (28XXXX). Staff outside the Livingston exchange area should Dial 9 + 01506 + new number (28XXXX).
Staff should use the council intranet to find the number of a staff member. This site will be kept updated during the staff move process to ensure the correct number is listed.
Users of the new phone system: To phone other users of the new phone system - use internal extension (8XXXX). To phone users of the existing phone system - dial 9 + full number (77XXXX). To call users outside the Livingston exchange area should Dial 9 + 01506 + Full Number (77XXXX). To dial external numbers - 9 + number. Operator - dial 0. During the process of moving staff to the Civic Centre staff move should use the council Intranet to find the number of a staff member. This site will be kept updated during the staff move process to ensure the correct number is listed.
The directory on the phone handset can also be used to find the number of users of the new phone system, but the number listed is only active once the staff member has moved to the Civic Centre.
A special community event was held to mark the official opening and dedication (new window) of the Council Chambers in the Civic Centre.
Pupils from Meldrum Primary School attended the unveiling of the Meldrum Fountain (new window) which stands in the foyer of the Civic Centre.
Move champions
Move champions should expect a call from Harrow Green (the company assisting us with the move) two to three weeks prior to your move date. They will be contacting you to schedule a visit to your service to discuss moving arrangements. Please be prepared.
A group of 'move champions' met on Friday 1 May and heard about arrangements for transferring teams to the Civic Centre. The presenters' slides are available here.
