Lothian & Borders Fire Brigade community safety service
The service focuses both on the operational (emergency) activities which we are well known for, such as firefighting, and a wide variety of prevention (community safety) activities, such as home safety checks, work in schools, with older people, and others who are most at risk from fire.
When most people think of the Fire and Rescure Service (new window) they think of firefighters, fire engines and fire. We now, however, do much more work in the community and in people's workplaces and homes to try to prevent fire and other emergencies happening in the first place and to make communities safer.
Some of these activities include: home safety checks, youth projects, fire setting, schools projects, events, and the Risk Factory.
If you would like infomation on how to make your home or place of work safer from the dangers of fire please call us (free, from a landline) on 0800 169 0320.
